So it really is true! Good things do come in small packages. In the middle of showing homes to clients, running home to eat chicken soup because I still feel like poo-poo, taking some Sudafed Cold (non drowsy my patootie!)...a small package arrived. I knew what it was instantly. I was sooooo excited. AND....I had the perfect spot for it.
I have this minuscule plate stand. There it sat....all alone...with nothing to display of its own. I mean - what does one put on such a small plate stand?

Also, remember my on-going kitchen project? I finally got the hutch painted black to match my breakfast table and chairs. I love it! If I feel like it tomorrow (meaning if the "non-drowsy" Sudafed doesn't knock me out cold) - I plan on heading to JoAnn's to take advantage of their 50% off fabric sale. I am going to upholster the back of the hutch. I can't seem to find any wallpaper I like. So, here's the before - displayed with my pink and white and ironstone collection...
And here's the after .... before the fabric upholstery. Amazing difference huh? I love how the little white porcelain knobs just pop now. I am thinking of having a piece of soapstone or white marble cut to fit for the bottom's top. I think that would be the defining touch!
I see the end to this 6 month long kitchen project. I will post pics of my completed soffit area with majolica plates. It turned out even better than expected and has an unexpected finish.
Happy "Warm" Thoughts....Barb

ReplyDeleteP.S. You should put this link on Mr. Linky tomorrow evening (after 9:00 PM) at my blog and participate in Met Monday! This is a great Met Monday post!
What a wonderful TRANSFORMATION!!! Looking wonderful!
ReplyDeleteReally like your hutch, and am looking forward to seeing it with the fabric. I have a china cabinet that needs some TLC and am afraid what I do won't go with my dining set which is cherry.

Meant to add - Like your little plate and hope you get to feeling better. If I take Sudafed, it is liking drinking to much coffee.
