Welcome to
What's on Your Wall Wednesday! This event is a way to allow everyone to showcase their wall treasures. These wall treasures can be featured in a kitchen...in a bathroom...even on a porch or patio wall.
Please join me and share some of your favorite wall treasures. Mr. Linky can be found at the bottom. Please post your
PERMALINK after you have posted your blog entry. Also, please add the
WOYWW logo to your post, and
link back to the host blog, Grits and Glamour - so others can come back here and view a list of all the participants.
So......here we go!All this week...I have been sharing pics from my Asheville trip where I met Debbie at
Confessions of a Plate Addict, and Kathysue from Rate My Space and Micasa.com. I am showcasing more photos of the interior of the Inn where we stayed.

I am posting pics of the room I stayed in - The Walnut Room. Isn't it beautiful?! It was one of the larger rooms at the Inn, and I loved the cozy sitting area. This room was decorated with pale peach walls, sage green velvet furniture and black floral drapes.

It was very feminine, but not overly done. The owner decorated each room herself.

I heart those needlepoint pillows on the couch, and look at that upholstered/fringed ottoman!!! Oh, be still my beating heart!

We all loved this painting hanging above the fireplace. She looks like she was the Lady of the House. We happened upon this same painting at a consignment store during our Goodwill Hunting Tour. It wasn't for sale! :-/

If you do not click to enlarge any other pics, please make sure you do so for the next two. These two bathrooms were located in the newly renovated Carriage House. We all three agreed this was our favorite room. I could just live here..or at least take long, luxuriating baths in that clawfoot tub!

This wallpaper is just as beautiful as it appears here. The whole bathroom was breathtaking. We loved the pale green subway tiles in the shower. I am thinking of copying the wainscotting height for my own guest bathroom.

All the guest room doors, as well as, other areas of the home such as beside the doorbell, on the front of the side door, etc - featured these lovely handpainted porcelain plaques. I think I am going to name all the rooms in my home, too. I will call the area where I cook...KITCHEN. The area where we sleep....BEDROOM. I am soooo creative that way!

Okay....THIS is on the wall, too. We all just thought the way they folded their toilet paper was so pretty. I was highly surprised to learn that Debbie and Kathysue did not fold the TP in their own home in this manner after each use. I thought EVERYONE did that!!?? :-D
(In the Grits' house, if it gets put on the roll we think we are living in high cotton!) LOL
So I hope you have enjoyed seeing more pics of our visit and stay at the Black Walnut Inn. I have some other pics I will share next week. Why next week? Because tomorrow we are leaving to go here....

Tunica, Mississippi. YooHoo! Harrah's is flying us there and we have complimentary rooms and such.

We're gonna do a little bit of this!!! It won't be 24/7 gambling - we have to EAT! LOL
Paula Deen has just opened a new restaurant there, so maybe she will be in attendance and we can lunch together....I hope she brings the butter!

Wish me luck....

... and hope there is lots of this....

.. and we don't come home like this! :-/
I look forward to seeing everyone's posts! Happy What's On Your Wall Wednesday Everyone!
Blessings, Barb
Good Luck in the Casinos! Whose going with you? We are going to Las Vegas in mid June for a few days, then to Laughlin for a 50th. anniversary/family reunion for brother-in-law and wife. I have always been fascinated with B&B's for some reason. My dream was to be able to buy a large house, renovated it and make it into a B&B but " my ship took a long time to get into port", by that time, I was too old and life got in the way and I
ReplyDeletegave up that dream. We would go to auctions and you wouldn't believe all the glassware and linens I bought to put away for that dream B&B. After doing housecleaning for about 10 yrs. for Sr. Citizens, I decided that wasn't for me, so we sold back our stuff at the auctions. We stayed in a B&B in Rheinebeck, NY and it was expensive but I wouldn't recommend it to anybody. The electricity went out during a storm and we couldn't see to even get into the house from the porch. Owners/Mgrs. not very accomodating, so after that experience hubby will not stay at B&B again.
Beautiful B&B Barb thanks for sharing with us...now my mama's maid in Cabo always did that with the toilet paper every day..My Daddy said it was so fancy he hated to use it ha ha!! and now if I could just teach Len to refill the roll when empty I would think that grand ha ha!! May you have a great week my friend...hugs and smiles Gl♥ria
ReplyDeleteWe have noticed that a lot of the chain hotels are starting to leave the tp like your picture showed. Our hotel in Waukeeki Beach even had a door bell on the outside of our hotel room! Now that's a trip I want to take again, just hate the thoughts of having to fly across all that big Pacific Ocean all those number of hours and I don't like cruises.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful and welcoming B&B! I am in LOVE with that blue and white bathroom --- I want that wallpaper. NOW. It's just so fresh and clean and pretty.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much -- I loved seeing these rooms! good luck at the casino!

Barb,
ReplyDeleteYou are too funny. I love reading your posts. I love the B&B you stayed at. Have fun gambling. I never gamble (don't have the money to gamble with, hee hee). But I love going to Vegas. Vegas is only a little over 3 hour drive from our house. Can't beat the prices for hotels in Vegas & I love the entertainment there. Plus we always hit the local thrift & antique stores. Have fun in Mississippi (I learned to spell it in a jump rope song).
I love the toilet paper! lol Nice touch! I love Paula Dean and The casino's, we usually go to Philadelphia, MS where the Silver Star Casino is. I been to Tunica, a few times. I about two hours away for there! I want to come! When Paula and you all going to be there? Are you there? Let me know Hubby will be ready to go! lol
ReplyDeleteHi Barb...It is such a beautiful B&B and so well decorated, money must have been no object. Lots & lots of luck at the casinos...and if you win more than you know what to do with...I'll be happy to take some off your hands...LOL Have a GREAT time...(That was hilarious about Paula & the butter) ;-) Bo
ReplyDeleteOh my Barb, what a gorgeous room you stayed in. I have had so much fun seeing all the posts you and Deb have done about your guys great trip. I think everything in the B&B is just stunning. Maybe we can just buy it and all live there together. lol That would be a lot of fun. Hugs, Marty
