Every year during Christmas - I like to keep a look out for the "must have" item of the Season.
This year.... I think its Lanterns.
I am guilty, too! I love them!
Last Christmas, I used lanterns on my
Formal Dining Room Table.
It's hard to beat good ole' Mason jars. Add some epsom salts to the base with simple white candles. Line a driveway, a walk-way or even a mantle. Sometimes the easiest things....are the prettiest. :)

I have already picked up a few lanterns here and there
over the past few weeks.
Not so much for use this Christmas season,
but for the upcoming holidays.
I love that they are so versatile and can be used for any
season - either inside your home or out.
Look at these beautiful Inspiration Pics using lanterns
of all shapes and sizes...
Different sized lanterns placed on a porch bench.
A tabletop of lanterns nestled within a spiral of greenery
and pinecones.
Love these footed lanterns. Very romantic!
What a beautiful idea above a Christmas buffet. Lanterns and Christmas ornaments hanging from Winter branches.
Lanterns nestled in snow, mixed with candles and hurricanes.
How darling is the easy tablescape? Simple white plates, white painted lanterns and whimsical polka-dot linens.
Another simple centerpiece idea...a white painted lantern nestled within a berry wreath.
Is this not a magical scene? A series of lanterns dot the front porch and line the steps of this home. Note the grouping of lanterns placed on the vintage sled.
Don't have any Lanterns? I love this idea which anyone can replicate....

I love lanterns, too, Barb! I have some like the ones you show in your tablescape from last year! We are twins! Happy week!...hugs...Debbie
ReplyDeleteBarb, I'm a lantern fanatic, as well! I brought mine in, from outside, to use for my Fall mantel. I loved them so much, I kept them up for Christmas! These are great images! So inspiring! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteRaising my hand too. YES I am a latern adict:)
ReplyDeleteI now have 4 sets and I even look at other things I have and ask myself- can I make a lantern out of that? lol
Yours are amazing and I loved the inspiration photos Barb.
Merry Christmas
Sonny
I've noticed this too, Barb! I do love the way they look. I totally forgot I had one up on top of my cabinets. I need to hit the dollar store for a sleeve of ornaments to fill it with.
ReplyDeleteBarb,
ReplyDeleteI remember the pictures on your blog from last year with the lanterns on the dining room table and thought they were so beautiful. Thanks for showing them again. Did you make those red and white table runners and placemats? Against the white dishes, they sure are striking.
Weather permitting, we may drive up to our favorite Kirklands, which is 1 1/2 hr. away but they are predicting rain and possible snow. The possible snow doesn't bother me but the rain does. Seems like it rains every Tuesday anymore. I love the footed lanterns too.
I love lanterns too, Barb. Thanks so much for this great inspiration. Lots of good eye candy!
