How egg-citing! It’s time for the
Egg-xellent Spring
I think of all the areas in my home,
(accept my Dining Table) I love to decorate my
mantel for the different Holidays the most.
I actually have two mantels.
But, the one which seems to get the most attention
is the one in my formal Dining Room.
Believe it or not,
I almost did not want to buy this house based on
my extreme dislike of the fireplace. It sticks out into
the room, it was all red brick (to include the mantel)
and not a very pretty brick, at that.
This area has always been a point of contention to me.
One day – enter a can of white paint.
Once the red brick was gone, it didn’t seem like such
an eyesore anymore.
The entire fireplace will receive a full makeover later
this year, but for now…. “it will do.”
🙂
Much like the plans for my formal Dining Room table,
my Easter mantel design took a drastic turn a few weeks ago.
I ordered this beautiful vintage-style poster.
Oh my! Such big plans I had for it.
But, they sent the wrong size and I didn’t have enough
time to send it back and order a new one.
That’s also about the time I realized my cute black and white
toile plates were too large for my tablescape.
Hello Mantel!
One day at Marshall’s, I discovered
“Beaumont.”
(that’s what I named him)
I love his Frenchy script fabric.
Frenchy script fabric, black and white toile plates…
suddenly Plan B was formed.
I had been wanting to try my hand at making fabric roses
for some time, and thought I could add them to this project.
for some time, and thought I could add them to this project.
HERE is the post I did about those, using fabric scraps.
I added them to my lampshades with some straight pins.
The only other changes I made was to replace the colorful
eggs in Beaumont’s basket with a single white
eggs in Beaumont’s basket with a single white
egg where I wrote “Happy Easter.”
I also added some Springy florals and some white painted
curly twigs to my Italian pitchers.
curly twigs to my Italian pitchers.
This is a simple mantelscape.
Not a lot of fluff and stuff like I usually do.
(well, simple for me I might add) 😉
But, I love the way it came together.
I think it also compliments my Easter Table.
You can see my post about my Table HERE.
Here is a view at night…
And if there isn’t enough Spring loveliness in my home,
I thought I would share a sneakie peakie of what is
happening outside my home.
My Carolina jasmine is in bloom.
The honey bees are quite busy and loving every bloom.
I can’t wait to see all the Spring/Easter Mantels you have to share.

Sorry, no mantel, but spring table! My mantel is not available right now. We’re re-aphostering our couches in the den and so the mantel is full of accessories from the den’s coffee table, which is also having a little make up done to it too. Hope you don’t mind my table, I didn’t want to miss your terrific party, so thank you so much for having me.

very pretty. Beaumont is my fav part.
I wanted the top piece on my mantle removed so I could play at this party but it takes 2 strong men to get it off there so, no mantle playing for me:(
maybe next time.
now off to visit some of the fine folks who are playing at your party.

Hi Barb! Thanks for hosting your mantle party. It is just beautiful with touches of whimsy too. You tied it in beautifully with your gorgeous table setting. I did a similar treatment to my fireplace but instead of paint, I used colored mortar to “wash” over it. I have liked it so much more than the brick, like you said.
