My Mama has a recipe for a 7-Up Cake that has been in the family for years. It's one of those desserts that makes you "Happy as a Skinny Tick on a Fat Dog."
This cake has been carried to more Southern family reunions and funerals than I can count.
The recipe hasn't changed at all over the years, and that is the best "ingredient"of all. The fact that it has never changed. I mean why would you?
When something is good and it works...then "let sleeping babies lie" and "if it ain't broke don't fix it."
So wouldn't it be much easier if Mr. Zuckerberg at Facebook was a good ole' Southern boy and liked 7-Up Cake and believed in keeping things simple. "Bless his heart."
Facebook has been "tinkered with" so many times, I sometimes think them folks are "as confused as a cow on astroturf." An update from Facebook is "about as welcome as an outhouse breeze."
I read that you only see maybe 1/3 of your friends statuses, and when it comes to Blogs and other types of FB pages you have Liked, you may see less than that.
That's about "as useful as a milk bucket under a bull" now ain't it?
So here is a simple way to make sure you don't miss any more posts from family members (even the ones you'd rather not hear from); special friends, not-so-special friends...and most important of all....BLOGS!
(more particularly The Everyday Home Blog!)
How did you like the way I worked that in? I'd say that was "gooder'n than grits." :-D
Well, sit back... cause I'm "fixin'" to tell you something you will appreciate. Here's how you can make sure you never miss another Blog Post or status update again.
1) Like the Blog. I am using Organized Chaos as an example. This also applies to a friend's FB page.
2) Click on the little wheel next to "Message." There will be a drop-down box.
"Add to Interest Lists"... but first you will need to .... create your lists.
4) You will see the option to create a "New List" which will allow you to categorize your FB pages any way you like...such as...
a) Friends I Adore
b) People Who Irritate Me Immensely
c) My Favorite Retailers, etc
and for the purpose of this tutorial...
d) Blogs I Love. (for example, The Everyday Home) :-D
*Okay, okay - I'm going a little "hog wild" with the innuendo huh? :)
If you want to visit all of these "Blogs I Love"...
(like for example...oh ok, I won't say it. I would not want to "get yer feathers ruffled" now would I?)....
6) On the bottom right hand corner of your FB page, go to "Interests" and you will see all of your created categories here.
7) And here they are... in all of their Favorite "Blogs I Love" Glory.
That's it. It's as "easy as pie." Or 7-Up Cake.

ReplyDeleteI haven't had a 7-Up cake in years! What a wonderful memory from my childhood visits with my Granny & Pap. Thanks for the tips on seeing FB posts. I just wish they would leave things alone.
ReplyDeleteSuper tutorial. I didn't know this. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteHow do you make a vanilla glaze?? My mom used to make this!!
ReplyDeleteSo I have no idea who I see on FB, I have no idea who sees my updates on FB, however I rarely update anyway, and just when you think you've heard it all - along comes the one liner that has never passed my ears before.... "about as welcome as an outhouse breeze". Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.... I'll check into the tutorial sometime when I'm worried about folks seeing my invisible and rare updates but till then this is my phrase of the week.
ReplyDeleteBliss
So how do you put ones you already "like" into the folder?
