I am a number person.
I have this inane ability to remember numbers when I cannot even remember my own name
some days.
Drivers License number.
Credit cards.
My husband’s social security number.
My son’s social security number.
I play the same lottery numbers because I know that one of these days, that magic lottery number picking machine is gonna choose them.
Ya’ gotta believe. 🙂
My lucky number is 7.
It is kinda amazing how much the number 7 plays a role in my life.
I was born in the 7th month in the 7th hour, for example.
There are seven of us in my immediate family of my husband and I and my son and his family.
I could go on and on.
Numerology, I think they call it.
I have no idea what numerology is or how it works. In fact, its kinda strange that I have a fascination of numbers when I can hardly balance my own checkbook.
I can conjugate a sentence in a New York minute.
Give me an adverb and pronoun and I will raise you one dangling preposition. 🙂
I love reading and books and I love whacky words. (remember my whacky word post?) So you would think it would be natural that I have a love of letters. (which I do. Also.) 🙂
But numbers… oh those sweet numbers.
I think its because numbers represent life.
12-23-59. When my loving and amazing parents were married.
07-17-64. When I was born.
08-04-84. When I gave birth to my precious son.
06-20-1992. When I married the love of my life in the most beautiful, intimate ceremony at 7pm and my 7-year old son gave me away. (see there’s my lucky number again)
12-31-2005. When my sweet Cole Man was born, at 4:37pm.
02-18-2008. When my son and my darling daughter-in-law was married.
10-29-2009. My sweet Roo’s birthday.
5-19-2012. Miss C’s date of birth.
Numbers bind us. “I take thee to be my lawfully wedded husband…”
Numbers encourage us. “Yay – I lost FIVE pounds this week!”
Numbers depress us. “Oh, wow…did I really gain that much weight back?”
Numbers give us life. “Today, my granddaughter came into this world.”
… and numbers represent who we are. “I was born the 7th month of the year, July. I am a Cancer.”
Numbers are all around us. So it’s no wonder we have a fascination with them.
What is your favorite number? Do you have one?
Have you ever given it any thought if there is a reoccurring number in your life?
Right at this moment… my fave number is 6,037.
(see there is that #7 again!)
Because that is how many Everyday Friends have joined me here so far on this blogging journey as I talk about some of the sillier things in my life that cross my mind… and cross this keyboard.
Such as my fascination with numbers. Who knew? 🙂

I love the numbers as decoration. I keep thinking that I want to paint numbers on my dining chairs, but I am chicken. This makes me want to do it now. What a pretty centerpiece you created. I love the tray and lanterns.

Love these tags, they are very cute. You are like my husband with numbers. He can remember his drivers license number, credit card number, etc. It is amazing to me.
