A Farmhouse Christmas

A Farmhouse Christmas Tour at The Everyday Home

Welcome to

A Farmhouse Christmas.

I am joining eight other blogs to celebrate a homespun,

homemade and Farmhouse-style Christmas.

A Farmhouse Christmas Tour at The Everyday Home

I have looked forward to this event for weeks.

Wait until you see the other ladies who are participating…

I am talking awesome with a capital A.

Last week,  I shared my Farmhouse Christmas Table

I also shared my Breakfast Room and Hutch during my

2013 Christmas Home Tour

There are several styles of decor within my home.

From English to Traditional.  But in our kitchen..

Farmhouse-style reigns.

I grew up with Farmhouse-style living on a large

NC Tobacco Farm.  So everyday was “Farmhouse” to me.

This style represents “home” to me.

During my trip to Georgia when I attended the

Country Living Fair and visited with my dear friend, Deb at

Confessions of a Plate Addict

I lucked upon a beautiful Tobacco Basket at a great price.

A Farmhouse Christmas Tour at The Everyday Home

I hung it on the front porch, and added a magnolia and red

apple wreath to it.  The red-ticking ribbon I have used

throughout the kitchen and breakfast room was used

on the porch, too.

I still have a few touches to make on the front porch, but I promise

to show you the full reveal next week.

Don’t you just love the cozy tartan plaid throw and felt deer pillow?

Dollar General.

Yep!

{love}

And did you happen to catch my oh-so-easy

Snowball Ornaments yesterday?

A Farmhouse Christmas Tour at The Everyday Home

If you didn’t I won’t tell you what they are made of and spoil

the surprise.   And, the laugh.  Laughing

But, I made a few more and they are nestled in an urn filled

with magnolia.

Beautiful, huh?

Black lanterns light the way.

Let’s head into the kitchen…I have cafe mochas waiting for

us because it’s kinda chilly here in Eastern NC.

For the record, this is a “working kitchen.”

AKA – I cook every night. Smile

So, although I would love for my kitchen to be magazine

worthy – I still need it to function for me.  So, I added smaller

touches here and there…all with a Farmhouse feel.

On the Sink side of our Kitchen…

A chalkboard sign by the coffee station says…

“Coffee puts the Fa in your La!” Laughing

My white Roo is filled with fresh ivy, rosemary, balsam

and red berries.  A gingerbread baking pan leans against the wall.

My favorite English pottery jug I bought at the

Portobello Road Market is filled with fresh

greenery, as well.

 Farmhouse-whiteplatter

The large white platter gets a Farmhouse touch with a greenery

and berry wreath hung by a red-ticking bow.

On the opposite side of the sink…

Small boxwood wreaths adorn each cabinet door hanging from

red-ticking ribbon.

Btw, I have received a ton of inquiries about this

red-ticking ribbon, and YES I will be selling it next year in

my shop, Farmhouse Decor, along with some other

fabulous ribbons like this one.

A added a small pinecone to a silver egg cup…

And a vintage colander is filled with greenery and a

Mason Jar with fresh cranberries and  floating candle.

I absolutely adore the creamware cupcake stands.

I used one to hold mini ornaments…

The vintage snowman muffin pan is one of my favorite finds.

An ironstone tureen holds vintage cookie cutters and mini loaf pans.

I have a new find… and another new item I will be carrying in my shop.

A fabulous Farmhouse Ladder…

It was the perfect place to hang my French Grain Sack stockings…

And no Farmhouse Kitchen is complete without some

barnyard animals…

Cleetus is very proud to be the Barnyard Marshall.

His magnolia and cotton wreath is tied with a generous

red-ticking bow.

filled with greenery, berries and Mason Jar candle holders.

So, that is my Farmhouse Kitchen.

Handmade. Vintage. Natural Elements.

All created with Love.

Because after all, without love – it doesn’t matter

how your home is decorated does it?
