Greetings from On-My-Way-To-Getting-Healthier Land!
(and happier, too)
I wanted to pop in and give y’all a little update on what is
happening here at The Everyday Home.
When one is diagnosed with the Alphabet Soup of illnesses,
it puts things in a whole new perspective.
For one… I decided that this diagnosis
would not define me, rather I would define it.
Did it stop me?
Yea, briefly.
As in, I was down hard.
I still have those days.
But, I am also about 50% better than I was…
and about 15 pounds smaller.
But, best of all – I am doing it naturally.
Diet, Oils and most recently, yoga and breathing techniques.
But, here’s the best part.
Their have been some incredible and exiting doors that have been
opening up for me.
I am the new “Chef” for our local County Farmer’s Market.
And just today, I will be doing “Farm to Table” cooking
demos at our local grocery store.
I’m back to writing my cookbook, and hope to have a mini
e-book version out after the holidays.
But, the biggest changes are on my FB page.
Have you seen the newest look?
Welcome to Barb!
The real Barb.
The Barb that has been floundering for a few years trying to find her voice
in this vast blogging world.
Not quite knowing where I fit in.
When I was first diagnosed and realized just how sick I was…
my heart told me I had to “get back to the basics.”
Basic eating, basic exercise, basic living.
JUST LIKE WHEN I WAS GROWING UP ON
THE FAMILY FARM!
In so many ways, its was a revolution for me!
I had to get back to my roots in all aspects of my life.
But, Barb…you don’t live on a farm.
What if I could show everyone that a “farm life” is a WAY of life?
A way of thinking.
A way of cooking and a simpler way of living.
What is I could show everyone that “simple and country” was
healthier and easier and so much more enjoyable.
Because it occurred to me…you don’t need 100 acres to
live a farm life.
Heck, I only live on 5 acres.
But, what you do need is the yearning for something
slower, more natural. more pure…
…more….
simple.
So, soon – The Everyday Home will become –
“A Farmer’s Daughter”
All of the older links and projects will still be here.
But, along with my life change, there will be a blog change, too.
I hope you will stick around.
I promise it won’t be a blog about feeding hogs and
gathering eggs all of the time.
🙂
I hope to be back to blogging soon.
I have missed you!
xxoo,
Barb
