Happy Wednesday, my Everyday Friends!
I am so excited to be able to introduce you to the
DECOR Contributing Editor,
Dawn from Creative Cain Cabin.
Today, she is taking you on a tour to see her
Cabin Bedroom Decor.
It’s amazing and I know you will LOVE it.

First I would like to thank Barb for including me in her monthly contributor posts,
I’m so honored to be here and excited to make some new friends.
I’m Dawn and I write at Creative Cain Cabin. I live in a log home constructed by love,
and many hours of hard work by my family’s own hands.
My hubby, son, and I did everything ourselves.
There’s not a log in this place that we all didn’t handle. The cabin took 4 years
to construct, I know that sounds like a long time but we paid cash as we went
and there were times we had money and no time and
vise versa. I can’t count the number of hours of hard labor we
put into this place.
By the way the home is totally green, everything is eco friendly, and
we only purchased from local people.
Every product is from Michigan, where I live, and the things like
appliances are all made in the good ole’ USA.
Well enough about me lets get on with this tour, shall we.
The loft is our master bedroom and it’s a big open space.
The room is 20X30 at least, on the side I’m taking the photos
from there’s a master bath, walk in closet, and my shoe and accessory room.
Our home is decorated with thrifted, repurposed, and time worn objects I would
rather reuse than buy new anyday. I like making what I have work in my design scheme.
For Valentines Day I decided to go with red, white, and turquoise.
I guess I can’t say I have any specific design style, I just use what I love and
call it home. If you have some time, stop on over and have a
look-see around the cabin,or stop by my shop;
where I turn my artwork into decor designs.
Where it came from:
Ticking Flannel Sheets – Garnet Hill
Solid Flannel Pillowcases – Garnet Hill
Buffalo Check Curtains – Tablecloths made into curtains
Turquoise Embroidered Rose Throw Pillows – TjMaxx
Turquoise Broyhill Lamps – TjMaxx
Bedside Roses – TjMaxx
Framed Art – My own photography, and developing
Chair – Garage sale
Red & White Quilt – Antique shop

Thanks, Dawn.

wow i used to have a bedroom that looked exactly like this at our family cabin back in the day. It is just so unique that the same style of room can look so modern just with a few touch up.

Such a beautiful bedroom, Dawn, and I loved hearing the story of how your home came to be ~ piece by piece! My Dad built the house I grew up in and it took him 7 years ~ it was before I was born but I remember growing up and there always being some new project going on. I was the youngest and I followed my Dad around like a puppy and he was always so sweet and before he would plaster or when he was pouring concrete, etc., he would always let me ‘add’ to the project either by drawing on plaster board before it was covered or burying something like a small toy in the concrete.
